Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-02-12

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Mino (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. Mino is open-source software, and these terms apply to the hosted version at mino.ink.

2. Description of Service

Mino is an agent-first, markdown-based knowledge platform. The Service allows users to create, organize, and manage notes stored as markdown files on self-hosted or managed servers. Mino does not store your notes on its own infrastructure unless you opt into the free managed tier.

3. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your API keys and server credentials. You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws. You are solely responsible for the content you create, store, or share through the Service.

4. Data Ownership

Your notes and data remain your property at all times. Mino's architecture ensures that data is stored on servers you control. The mino.ink web client is a thin shell that connects to your server — it does not store or process your note content.

5. Open Source License

Mino's source code is available under an open-source license. You are free to self-host, modify, and distribute the software in accordance with the license terms found in the GitHub repository.

6. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. In no event shall the Mino team be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of the Service.

7. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

8. Contact

For questions about these terms, please open an issue on our GitHub repository or contact us at legal@mino.ink.
